Terms and Conditions

Rate Estimate - We encourage our passengers to get a rate estimate including estimated ancillary charges at the time of booking. If requested by the passenger or booking agent, all rate quotes prior to service are only an estimate of the cost of the ride. The full and accurate rate will be calculated after the ride is completed. Rate estimates may not include parking, tolls, stops, wait time, gratuity and surcharges, if applicable. If a rate quote is for a reservation outside the United Sates the rate may change depending on exchange rates when the ride is completed. If you request a vehicle other than a sedan, (limousine, van, SUV, buses), higher rates will apply. Specialty vehicles must be cancelled 24 hours prior to scheduled pickup time or late cancellation fees will apply.

Cancellation, No Show and Refund Policy - Cancellations for rides in Manhattan must be made prior to the vehicle’s arrival at the pick-up point. Cancellations for rides in the NY Metropolitan Area, must be made prior to the vehicle being dispatched and can be made through our online system. If your reservation is outside the NY Metropolitan Area, through our National Network or International Network, cancellations must be made 24 hours in advance. Late cancellation fees and/or fare charges, may apply, if reservations have not been cancelled within these time frames.

The above cancellation terms represent standard policy at TCI and may be modified from time to time based on market, desired reservation dates and vehicle availability. All modifications that are mutually agreed upon in writing or communicated and confirmed at the time of reservation will supersede the above.
No Show charges will apply if the passenger fails to cancel a reservation within the relevant time frame or fails to show up at the designated pickup time or takes an alternate form of transportation without notifying TCI. No Show charges will be the full rate of the ride plus any incidental charges incurred by the IOO.
Refunds or credits for cancelled, no show or other rides must be requested within three days of the schedule ride pick-up date and time. The request may be made by emailing Tow Car International at feedback@towncarinternational.com or calling 212-727-7800 Any request for a refund or credit on a completed ride must be accompanied by proof of a qualifying event. A qualifying event may only occur if the passenger did not reach their final destination or called Town Car International during the ride to report an incident.

Wait Time - Wait time and grace periods may vary depending on the city and / or country the ride is in. Please call TCI to get the wait time rate and policy for your city.

Fuel Surcharge and Surface Transportation fees and Taxes – Some rides may incur a fuel surcharge. This surcharge is based on national averages in the United Sates and will be charged at the applicable rate on the day the ride is completed. Surface Transportation fees are calculated based on overhead expenses as a percentage of the ride and are not charged on all rides. Taxes will be calculated at the statutory rate and added to the fare amount

Garage to Garage - Some rides may be billed Garage to Garage which means the ride is billed from the time the vehicle leaves the garage en-route to the pick-up until the vehicle returns to the garage. In some regions there may also be a mileage or kilometer charge.

Child Safety Seats - In the New York City Metropolitan area ONLY, TCI provides child safety seats, to its affiliated Independent Owner Operators (“IOO”), as a convenience and a courtesy, for passengers to utilize when traveling with children.
TCI encourages parents to use their OWN child seat when traveling with a child. TCI provides a child safety seat, to its Independent Owner Operators ONLY at the request of a passenger. It is to be used only when traveling with children and for no other purpose. The parent or legal guardian who is traveling with the child is responsible for ensuring the child safety seat provided is appropriate for the age, height and weight of the child. If the child seat is not appropriate for the child, the passenger should NOT use the child seat. You should make arrangements for the appropriate child safety seat to be installed in the vehicle, prior to leaving to any destination, with a child in any vehicle.
It is the responsibility of the parent or legal guardian who is traveling with the child to inspect the child safety seat prior to its use; ensure the child safety seat is properly installed and the child is safely seated and strapped into the child safety seat. By utilizing the child safety seat the parent and/or legal guardian of any child or children and the IOO and/or driver, agree to indemnify and save TCI and its principals, affiliates, agents, employees and representatives harmless from any and all claims, liabilities (joint or several), loss, damages, deficiencies, judgments, costs and expenses (including but not limited to attorneys’ fees, interest, penalties, costs and reimbursements) arising out of any such loss, injury, death or damage arising out of, or in any course of involving the use of a TCI provided child safety seat(s). TCI makes no warranties, express or implied as to the fitness of the child safety provided, seat for any purpose whatsoever.
The Child Safety seat is provided free of charge. A fee may be charged for additional stops added to the job in order to pick-up and drop off the child safety seat.
Outside of the New York City Metropolitan area may not provide child safety seats in these areas, parents and guardians of children traveling in TCI affiliated vehicles are responsible for providing and installing child safety seats in accordance with state and federal laws.
Never leave your child unattended or alone in or around cars.

Service Disruptions - Town Car International ("TCI"), shall not be liable for circumstances beyond its control or its inability to provide service in a timely manner, including but not limited to, travel costs, loss of business, weather, road conditions and breakdowns, any failure of performance, error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, computer virus, act of god/act of nature, communication line failure, theft, destruction, unauthorized access to, or alteration of the website, whether for breach of contract, tortious behavior, negligence, or under any other cause of action. Our maximum liability (if any) shall not exceed the flat rate cost of the ride.

Lost and Found - TCI assumes no responsibility for lost or damaged baggage, lost or damaged personal belongings or any items left in the vehicle. If an item is reported missing and TCI is made aware the item may have been left in an affiliated vehicle, TCI will endeavor to find and return the missing property, but in no way accepts liability for the condition of the missing item or the cost of its return.

Additional Conditions: The following items are prohibited from TCI vehicles: alcoholic beverages, glass containers, smoking, firearms, explosives and fireworks. TCI drivers are asked to refrain from soliciting gratuities. Additional charges will be itemized on the customer’s billing statement when applicable (e.g. tolls, parking, airport and regulatory fees, fuel surcharge, cell phone) All published rates are subject to change without notice. All rates are calculated in the local currency and billed in U.S. dollars at the prevailing exchange rate. Due to fluctuating currency exchange rates, U.S. dollar equivalents of international rates may vary. Applicable taxes will be charged as required.
